Djay

djay grab

Djay is a very nice little application available on the Mac platform. It is packed with some very cool features well worth it’s reasonable price. I first had this on my computer with version 1 and messed around with it a bit. It was free back then but it was also lacking and not everything worked. Now it is in version 2 and it is fully fledged. There are a few things I would like it to do which it doesn’t do, such as not being able to capture it’s audio output along with other applications in the system audio stream. However this is not a normal need and I was really looking to do this initially so I could enclose a screen capture movie to show you the application in action. But never mind because it allows you to record your mixes with the application itself and that is the main thing.

So lets have a look at what this does then. Read more

Party Pix Experiment

Time out! So I went out and got drunk on Friday night which lasted well into Saturday. It’s been a while but it was good to catch up with my friends. I don’t get out enough, which is kind of self inflicted for a number of reasons! I had just recently got my good Lumix camera back from repair so I took it upon myself to grab some obtrusive shots! It’s just as well my friends are used to me when I am snap happy! I got a good exposure set on the camera so I could snap away without the flash and be sure that the majority of the shots would come out ok (I avoid the flash as much as possible). Read more

Total Recut – Remixed Media

tr

Here one that I saved for later a few months back and only got back around to it recently. Total Recut is a website set up by a fellow Irishman to bring about a community of video remixers, mashup artists and the like. It is a great project with a lot of potential. There are a fantastic selection of recuts accessible from the site so far and a few I have not seen before. Also on the site are links to source material, applications and other info about the scene. I hope the site grows to be a great community of like minded folks who wish to engage people with their new creations with old media. Mashups are fast becoming the biggest buzz on the web and there is so much more material to explore. Read more
